Paul is unwavering in his commitment: No cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security—period. He will fight to expand healthcare access in rural communities through greater support for telehealth, mobile clinics, and local healthcare providers. As Paul meets with seniors, families, and healthcare professionals across Virginia’s 5th District, one issue comes up again and again: skyrocketing prescription drug costs. He knows too many Virginians are being forced to make impossible choices between paying for medication or putting food on the table. That must change. Paul believes every Virginian deserves access to affordable, high-quality healthcare, regardless of income or zip code. He will protect Virginia’s Medicaid expansion, work to lower prescription drug prices, and strengthen protections for those with preexisting conditions. In the face of renewed efforts by Republicans in Congress to slash Medicaid funding—as proposed in the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill”—Paul will stand firm. He will fight to protect the 167,000 residents in the 5th District who rely on Medicaid and ensure that healthcare remains a right, not a privilege.
